Girlie Gadgets: Bathroom Rituals

In a busy nzgirl's life, the time spent in her bathroom has the potential to be the blissful break she needs in her day - more often than not though, those ten minutes away from the stresses of work and family end up being absorbed by daily tasks, leaving no time for relaxing!

This week we take a look at four girl centric gadgets, that take routine tasks and transform them into a daily ritual that every busy nzgirl can enjoy within the comfort of her own home...

If you missed Tee on Breakfast this morning, click here to check her out...

Neutrogena Wave
Transform: Your face cleansing routine to a vibrating power cleanse
RRP $24.95, refills $15.95
Why you need one: As Bonnie would say, "there ain't nothing wrong with harnessing the power of vibration..." The Neutrogena Wave lets you 'turbo-charge' your cleansing thanks to its vibrating technology. Using the Wave is as easy as attaching a disposable cleansing pad, running it under water to activate and switching on the gentle vibrating head - then you're ready to use the Wave to gently massage your face and open up your pores to remove dead skin cells, oil, dirt and makeup and leaving you with clean, soft smooth skin.
Available from: Farmers, The Warehouse and supermarkets and selected pharmacies.

TEE'S PICK: Satinjet Maia Shower
Tranform: Your morning shower into a revitalising hydrotherapy massage experience
RRP: $395.00, Vitamin C refills $29.95
Why you need one: I don't even know where to start on my adoration of the Maia shower - possibly because I didn't know I could become so enamoured by a shower head! The Maia is described by makes Methven as 'hydro-couture' because of its massage and hydrotherapy benefits - but it's also an eco friendly alternative to your current set-up.

The Maia comes in the most gorgeous packagaing and installation is as simple as unscrewing your previous shower head and welcoming in the Maia. The shower head contains a flow restrictor (so you use less water!) and an inbuilt Vitamin C filter to neutralise the effect of chlorine on your skin and hair. When it comes to shower time, the Maia can be set to four different set ups including regular, pulsating massage jets, a wide spray (great for showering with two) and face massaging/cleansing setting (with a gap in the jet flow so you can breathe!). All options have Methven's Satinjet technology meaning that instead of the water pelting out of the faucet, two tiny jets collide and 'droplets' fall onto your skin - making it safe for faces! The nzgirl office shower will never be the same again!

Want to check it out for yourself - East Day Spa have the Maia in place so that after any relaxing treatment, you can rinse away the worries of your world in style and bliss!

Spa Lights
Transform: Your evening bath into a relaxing, mood-lit spa experience
RRP $29.95
Why you need them: Baths can be a pretty relaxing experience - but sometimes coordinating candles and rose petals gets a bit hard and no longer the stress free experience you were envisaging. Enter Spa Lights, two waterproof plastic battery powered lights that can either suction onto the bath (or shower) or float in the tub and glow a soft, yellow light. They'll make any bath experience, even if you've only got ten minutes to lie back, the equivalent of a Bali spa! Perfect for you-time, or also great additions for making your kids' bathtime that much more fun.
Available from: www.iwantthat.co.nz

Wondercap
Transform: A hair wash into a deep conditioning experience
RRP $35.00
Why you need one: nzgirl Gail invented the Wondercap herself when she wanted a salon-worthy treatment from the comfort of her own home. Fashion ed Anya swears by them and said I had to try one for myself! The Wondercap is a great solution for those of us who are worried about the wear and tear on our hair from blow drying, straightening and colouring but don't want to pay for salon based treatments every week - a luxury!

I'm a convert to the wheatpack for your hair! Like all of the above gadgets, the Wondercap isn't about making your life harder, but about making what you normally do that little bit better... You wash your hair like normal, apply a conditioning treatment and then the Wondercap (after you've popped the wheatpack in the microwave) for 10-20 minutes and then, et voila, your hair reappears, shiny and soft and gorgeous!
