Held at the Ellerslie race course on Tuesday November 4, you’ll be able to check out the actual Melbourne Cup via live simulcast coverage as well as 10 on-course races at Ellerslie.
This day is all about glamour and style – there’ll be the Melbourne Cup Style Award for the best-dressed male and female on-course, the Lindauer Powder Room and a ‘birdcage bash’ after the last race until late! For many of you, the answer is probably never, and for the rest of you, I don’t think you’d be getting done by the pro’s enough. New Zealand Room: You’ll find some delicious café style dining here to have refuel and reenergise you throughout the day.  The detailsWhere: Ellerslie Race Course, Auckland Admission: $5.00 per person. Children under 15 years free. Tickets can be purchased on the day at the entrance turnstiles by Gate 6. A general admission ticket provides access to the course and to the Newmarket Room in the Ellerslie Stand (what is that?), as well as public lawn areas. The Ascot Stand is reserved for Members of the Auckland Racing Club and their guests, however a day pass can be purchased for $20 from the Race Day Office (on the day). This pass provides access to a number of lounges including Piccolos Bar and the New Zealand Room. Gates open: 10.30am
