Can you give us a brief job description? Kristi: Must be able to ski different terrain around the world. Jump monster jumps and be ready for a photo shoot and interview any time, anyplace. Anne-Flore: Fun, travels, powder and booty shaking.
How did you get this job? Kristi: Hard work. Anne-Flore: Booty shaking… Having fun and lots of travel. What inspired you to get into this field? Kristi: It's a love. Anne-Flore: The four of the above together.
What is a typical week at work like for you? Kristi: I get up early in the morning. Ski on the mountain for 3-4 hours. Come home, answer some emails, eat lunch, work on my new company, then go to the gym for a couple hours at night. Anne-Flore: Well I have different types of days - the JOB job one... Doing catalogue shoots, interviews, product meetings and emails, and then the fun ones – snowboarding and getting shots! What do you enjoy about your job most of all? Kristi: The friends. Anne-Flore: The snowboarding part; filming in the backcountry with a small group of a photographer and two other riders just enjoying the snow, the mountain the moment present, and the adrenaline of stomping a new trick!
Best perks of the job? Kristi: Being a world traveller. Anne-Flore: I get to enjoy the winter all year around! What personality traits/skills/attributes help a person get a job like yours? Kristi: Athletic, personable and a little crazy. Anne-Flore: Having no fear, being out going, transmitting the fun and being able to talk english
Most memorable moment of your job so far? Kristi: Winning the Fox Action Sports Awards female skier of the year. Anne-Flore: I’m not sure what’s the most memorable moment so far… But very recently, an hour ago actually, I was as a guest on the Sports Cafe show in NZ, and a streaker came and shook his booty, and the rest of it right before my eyes on live, national TV!
Any advice for nzgirls wanting to get into this field? Kristi: Go to Snowpark! It's one the best training facilities in the world. Ann-Flore: Go up in the mountain always, have the most FUN and keep it alive…
Where would you like to go from here? Kristi: Up! Anne-Flore: Oakley Chicks Day Out in Queenstown on Friday (held last Friday). YEAH!
