If your wardrobe is causing you to panic as you wonder how exactly you’re going to get through summer, we have worked out the perfect way to inject a little bit of summer into your wardrobe...
From the joy of the cherry shoe, to the updating magic of an on trend bag. You don’t need to spend a lot of money this season or go out of your way to get a great summer look, just use our top five tips to get the look easily and on a budget!
1: The happy shoe
If you are going to buy only one pair of shoes for the summer season, it should be bright, fun and functional. Whilst a towering pair of heels may seem like the best option how much wear are you really going to get out of them. Where as a cute pair of summer sandals can take you from the beach to dinner in style. With all that extra wear you can definitely excuse paying a little more for a good pair as well – like we needed any justification! My pick: Elysee flat $210.00 from Mi Piaci
2: Don the bright nail
The easiest and cheapest way to get in on the new season trend bandwagon is to choose a yummy colour to swipe on your finger nails and toe nails. It’s seriously a huge updater, even if you think it won’t make that much of an impact. And best of all it’s seriously cheap to do, a bottle of my favourite nail polish will last you the whole summer and costs a measly $22.50!
My pick: Brights Power $22.50 from OPI (I’m wearing this very colour at the moment!)
3: Buy some cheep and cheerful jewellery
I love Karen Walker jewellery as much as the next girl, but when it comes to the realm of affordable summer updaters why not hit the likes of Diva and Dotti. If you’re feeling super crafty you can always have a go at making it yourself; it’s amazing what you can do with a few lengths of ribbon and some beads.
Nothing screams summer more than a pattern and this season there are so many to choose from. Florals, ombre, geometrics, Parisian stripes or cutesy ginghams. Whatever your pattern poison is there is a buy to make you perfectly happy. And of course that one item will totally re-energise all those bored basics you have!
You don’t even need to buy new sunglasses, just reaching for the ones you had last season and pairing them casually with your favourite white tee, scarf and denim screams summer (and takes a cue from stylish Kate Moss). If you are feeling up to the challenge of finding the perfect pair of sunglasses then of course you can go out and buy a pair, so why not get something on trend in a vintage frame or a funky aviator?
