About You
Entrepreneur: Senka Radonich

Senka Radonich started her company “Adventure Girls” with the aim of making it easy for women to try new things.

Adventure Girls offers everything from horse riding to surfing experiences, designed to take you out of your comfort zone. Find out where her business idea came from...

Where did the inspiration come from for your company? What’s the story behind it?
I have always been passionate for outdoor adventure and am a self confessed thrill seeker. I had an idea about creating a company that gave women the opportunity to do the things that they have always wanted without the hassle of organising it.

Adventure Girls went from a dream to a reality when a bunch of my girlfriends and I finished painting the inside of my house (without the boy’s assistance), and one of my friends stood back and said “See… girls can do anything.” And with that BFTO (blinding flash of the obvious) I arranged my first group of adventure and Adventure Girls started.

Why would I want to trade places with you?
Apart from the fact that I get to wake up to my really cute fiancé? Seriously though, I love what I do and if you were to trade places with me, I think that you would agree that there is a real sense of satisfaction around what we do. It’s pretty hard to put into words the look of achievement on the faces of women as they stand up on surfboard for the first time, or fire a pistol and hit the target, or get a 4WD to balance in the middle of a giant seesaw.. it’s simply phenomenal!

What are the best things about your life?
Gosh… the best thing about my life is that I feel I am living my dream. I know where I want to go and I have awesome people in my life who are there making sure I hold myself to a higher standard.

Where do you see yourself in the future?
Sitting on a tropical island with my honey Mike…

Which nzgirl most inspires/inspired you?
Definitely the ladies that come along to the adventures, for sure! On all the adventures that we have I get inspired every time. I have had a woman come along and climb 15 metres into the trees and zip along on a flying fox when she was afraid of heights… it’s incredibly inspiring. We give out the Sportbili Award at the end of each adventure to acknowledge women who go above and beyond their comfort zone… it truly is a superb feeling being around that.

What are three important lessons you’ve learnt along the way?
Be passionate about what you do.
Surround yourself with like minded people.
Be persistent.

Any advice for nzgirls?
Schikes... where do I start? Follow your dreams, and never ever, ever let anyone tell you that you can’t have it. We all have with in us the power to achieve anything that we set our mind to. Live life with passion and integrity and always be true to yourself.

Accept the Adventure Girls Challenge: Take up any opportunity you can to do something that either really excites you or really scares you and know that it will be worth every minute, because girls can do anything! Sign up for our updates on up coming adventures at www.adventuregirls.co.nz and do something that you have always wanted!

And... Remember the only thing that stands between a person and what they want from life is often merely the will to try it and the faith to believe that it is possible.
