Likened to blonde haired glamour girls like Charlize Theron and Cameron Diaz, Katherine Heigl has a style all her own.
nzgirl gives you the rundown on her classic fashion sense, love of colour and her blonde curls. From casual wear to the glitz and glamour of the red carpet we show you how to steal her look...
Cute and Casual Katherine chooses denim as the core of many of her casual outfits and uses it both as a base for colour and texture. Follow her lead here and pair your jeans back with dressy casual items like the off the shoulder top and a pair of silhouette lengthening heels. The bag adds the final celeb-worthy touch, with our choice of bag being one of my favourites for the season.

Red Carpet Glam Katherine’s red carpet identity is decidedly glamorous. Her look involves full length gowns, shimmering silks and couture designs. This style is perfect for a ball or special event and can be toned down with the use of basic and understated black. The one shoulder detailing has enough drama around the neckline so don’t worry about jewellery. The sparkle of our chosen accessories give the shine that a necklace or dressy earrings otherwise would.

Cocktail Classic If she isn’t strutting the red carpet in full length gowns then the cute cocktail dress will be the next choice. Just on or below the knee length is a great choice as it shows off the thinnest parts of the leg well. If going for base black choose a dress with detailing (like the tulle detailing on Katherine’s) or play it up in a dramatic colour.
1: Bubble Hem Dress $129.90 from Staxs 2: Gathered Waist belt $25.00 from SUPRÉ 3: Dragonfly Heel by French Connection $299.00 from Scarpa 4: Blubird Frame Handle Clutch $45.00 from Strandbags
Naturally Pretty Katherine has great facial features and knows the best way to complement them day-to-day is by keeping it simple, rather than bringing attention to the fact she’s wearing makeup. To get this look, choose a great base foundation (2) and remember that this is a tool for evening out the skin tone not creating a mask like appearance. Line eyes in brown and accent with a shimmery brown or gold eye shadow before adding a swipe of mascara (3). Finally lips coated in a hint of red, either with a matte lipstick or a sheer gloss (1), give the look a great finish.
1: Covergirl Lipsticks $15.00, we recommend the shade ‘Darling’ 2: Napoleon Perdis Camera Finish $55.00 3: id Bare Escentuals Mascara $40.00
Hair with a Vintage Twist I love Katherine’s blonde locks, especially when in vintage inspired up dos! With so many nzgirls heading off to special events at this time of the year it’s great to know you can do this yourself. Follow Rita Sue’s handy finger wave tutorial here for the best vintage inspired results. And remember to treat your hair to a little care post the event with a mask and a heat treatment. You can either use warmed towels or something like the Wonder Cap, which keeps your hair warm and in the best state to let the hair mask do its work.
