Hot Date: Jermaine Leef from C4

There are some things you just shouldn’t ask on a first date. In an attempt to scare off the new C4 host Jermaine Leef, I enlisted the  help of my guy mates to come up with the worst questions you could ask during this impressionable period.
From the exes to babies, the size of his pad to why he’s single; I did my best to sound like the clingy and desperate chick guys are afraid of.
Your average guy would be quite freaked out at this point but Jermaine just isn’t your average guy. He has ice cream hangovers instead of the more traditional beer ones, wants to go live in a tribe in the Amazon and doesn’t believe in one night stands, all of which is rather refreshing. After getting off to a great start (he bought me a little bag of lollies – good call) it was time to get serious; more serious than any first date has ever been before.
Last break up - was it you or her?
 It was a mutual agreement that we kind of grew more into friends I guess... I think at the end of the day we were both happier seeing each other happier somewhere else - not like with other guys and other girls or anything like that. We were still really good friends and we were still really good friends the day after we broke up.
So why is it that someone like you is single then?
You could go into so much depth here. I’m at the right stage of my life where it’s just good to be single and good to have lots of Jermaine time, without being, like, dirty Jermaine time.
Not like one-night-stand Jermaine time?
Nah…not like Jermaine on Jeremaine action, it’s just good to be single and have heaps of time to yourself. You get to do exactly what you want and not worry about what your partner or girlfriend’s doing. Sometimes it’s just really good to just hang out with everyone!
How big is the place you’re living?
 It’s huge…it’s in Western Springs and I’ve got my own lounge. There's one of my mates who is an audio technician and his partner and then just me. I’ve got my own big massive room, an ensuite and my own lounge. I’ve got Sky in my room so it’s just like a Jermaine party at my house.
Lots of wardrobe space?
Yep lots of wardrobe space, but it’s all filled with jackets because people want to get their clothes on TV so you get lots of clothes. Shout out to Puma and everyone else who hooked me up…I’ve got two massive wardrobes.
What’s in your five year plan?
I’m still yet to do my overseas travel and I really want to go to Japan because I’ve been to Asia a few times. When you get to Asia it feels like when you get off the plane you’re already 30 years in advance of New Zealand, technology-wise and just in the whole social culture. I could see myself living there for the next few years after C4. Then after that I want to go live in the Amazon with a tribe, I reckon that would be amazing not even having anything. It's what real life should be like - everything’s so carefree and they’re real worldly people. It would open your mind a bit more.
So, do you want kids?
Yeah sure.
How many?
Three? I have two brothers and two great parents who have been the most amazing parents ever and I’d just like to do pretty much what they’ve done with me and my brothers. I don’t know could be four could be two, I could be infertile – who knows!
What are you going to call them?
Actually to be honest I haven’t thought that far ahead. It’s like you’ve got an exam three months down the track, it’s one of those things I’m not thinking about at the moment. I’ll just worry about it on the night before.
Would you send your kids to a public or private school?
 Definitely public. I thought it was awesome to go to a public school…I don’t know if it’s true but I always thought when we went to private schools to do inter-school sports and things like that they always seemed a little bit snootier. Although a lot of them probably weren’t, there were always those parents that were the real rich ones that drove their stupid cars and their kids are going to end up the same just because their parents are such retards.
Why should someone date you?
No one should have to date me! I guess I’m just a nice guy, always keen to have fun – that’s so cliché and crap…
So what would you think of me if I asked you all these questions on a first date? Bit weirded out?
Not at all, I love weird questions. Weird questions are like what make me weird.
Weird or extremely polite, I’m not sure, but either way an incredibly good sport. For one of my meanest dates yet I had one of the nicest guys – he even walked me to my car afterwards.
