WHERE TO STAY
The Hollywood Roosevelt The Hollywood Roosevelt is the girls' hotel of choice. Throughout history this A-class establishment has been known as Hollywood’s playground for the rich and famous; Marilyn Monroe has stayed here and it’s even the birth place of the Academy Awards! Definitely the only spot in town worthy of sleeping in if you want to live it up in true Hills style.
WHERE TO EAT Ketchup Lauren's favourite restaurant is the trendy Sunset Boulevard eatery, Ketchup (8590 W Sunset Blvd West Hollywood). The menu revolves around traditional American food with a sophisticated twist. You’ll have fun deciding what to order; all the dishes have cute names like “Scandalous Lobster Wraps” and “Shake n Bake”.
Sushi Bar Anyone who has ever watched Laguna Beach or The Hills knows that if you’re from the OC, you love sushi! Lauren and Heidi are no exception. When they crave sushi in LA they head to Café Sushi (8459 Beverly Blvd). With over twenty years in the business, it has one of the biggest sushi menus in the city!
WHERE TO SHOP
Bleu No trip to Hollywood is complete without a visit to the legendary Bleu boutique (454 S, La Brea Ave). Filled with some of the newest, most exclusive pieces from lines such as Anna Sui and Rock & Republic, this store has gained a cult following amongst celebrities and LA’s most fashionable. And of course it’s one of Lauren’s favourite shops.
Betsey Johnson Looking for clothes that are totally unique? Look no further. Betsey Johnson is an iconic New York designer famous for her bold, eclectic and strikingly different collections. Even the interior of her LA store (8050 Melrose Ave) is seriously cool, with its bright pink walls and black and white chequered tile floor. Lauren is a big fan of Betsey Johnson; she wore one of her stunning martini dresses for her 21st birthday.
Diavolina For an amazing shoe collection head to Whitney’s favourite shoe oasis, Diavolina (156 South Robertson Boulevard). This store is filled with a huge range of the sexiest and sassiest shoes you’ll ever see, and would never be able to find in New Zealand.
Vintage Shopping Clothes don’t always have to be brand spanking new to be fabulous. LA offers a great selection of vintage clothing stores. Check out Iguna Vintage (1442 Ventura Boulevard, Sherman Oak) for kitschy clothes, American Rag (150 South Los Angles, Brea Avenue) for newer designer items and Resurrection Vintage Clothing (8006 Melrose Avenue) for uber exclusive pieces.
WHERE TO PARTY
Les Deux After a long, hard day of shopping nothing beats a great night out. Les Deux (1638 N. Las Palmas Ave) is an all round celebrity hotspot, and Lauren’s favourite club. The chic French lounge has something for everyone. Depending on your mood you might want to mix and mingle outside with the A-listers, venture inside to dance to the latest club beats or go upstairs and relax on one of the stunning balconies or in front of the plush fireplace. Les Deux has also played host for some of The Hills most dramatic scenes.
El Carmen A popular Mexican bar with over 270 different kinds of tequila, El Carmen (8138 West Third Street Fairfax) is near Whitney’s apartment, and one of her favourite local nightspots. It’s a hip, high energy bar and not for the light hearted.
