First appearing in Dawson's Creek, the cute and ever-stylish Michelle Williams is one of the rising stars of the Hollywood set. With a love of colour and a brave sense of fashion, nzgirl show you how to steal her style...
Classically Casual I know I’ve said this many times, but it’s really evident; even the most simple shoe can make the outfit. Here the stunning line of the full wedge lifts the entire outfit which is based around the classic trench look first made famous by Audrey Hepburn. Instead of the classic (and much saturated) trench, go for something with a point of difference like our choice by up-and-coming Kiwi designer Ana Steele.

Spot of Colour Black tie does not necessarily mean black. In fact for summer, evening wear is more often bright and vibrant than subdued and dark. Michelle often plays with colour on the red carpet as seen here with this zesty yellow number. Ironically, she received both praise and ridicule for this dress choice, but I love the line of it and the canary colour is so fresh. We were inspired by the 1930s cut and drapery of Michelle’s dress, but chose to go with a slightly more downplayed version. This dress from Sable and Minx still has the interesting neckline and detail at the true waist, and the soft shade of blue is a great addition to summer wardrobes.

Vintage Graces Cream satin and black detailing is a very classic and subtle cocktail look. Here it is in silk (so cute!) but the idea works just as well in matte fabrics or more sheer ones such as chiffon. Jersey dresses using similarly classic lines are great for day wear and the fact that this garment has such a subdued colour palette and 50s cut, makes it a very verstile base dress. Imagine the difference some cute flats and a cardi would make!
1: Slim Flap Over Clutch $35.00 from Strandbags 2: Zeemel $200.00 from Mi Piaci 3: Tallulah dress $139.90 from Principals
Pretty Girl Beauty You don’t need to layer on the makeup to get a defined and beautiful look. Michelle tends to focus on only one or two features to bring out her natural beauty. Try a bronzing powder on the cheek bones (1), or a great exfoliator (2) to get her peaches and cream complexion. Brows are easily defined with a little well placed powder (3), whilst lips are best served by a splash of bright lipstick (4). No one said you had to paint your whole face, simply polish one area to make you look more pulled together as a whole.
